The Rev. Gregg Brekke owns and operates SixView Studios, a communications company dedicated to the art of visual communication and interpretation.
Brekke’s portfolio is broad and includes significant attention given to global health and economics, justice issues, immigration, evangelism and church vitality, and faith-journey feature stories. Recent work has been published by Religion News Service, US Catholic, and is found in syndication at major news outlets including the Washington Post. Video projects have focused on curriculum development, awareness campaigns and non-profit mission promotion.
Brekke previously served as news director for the United Church of Christ and editor of United Church News and StillSpeaking Magazine. In his role as news director, he worked closely with journalists and media professionals who reported on the UCC. As editor, Brekke oversaw the day-to-day operations of United Church News online and StillSpeaking Magazine, winner of the 2011 and 2012 DeRose-Hinkhouse Best-of-Class Periodical awards from the Religion Communicators Council.
He serves as board president of the Associated Church Pressand on the World Alliance for Christian Communication (WACC-NA) Executive Committee as the team lead for video and film projects.
Prior to working at the UCC in Cleveland, Brekke was pastor of Nexus UCC in Hamilton, Ohio, and a freelance journalist. A widely published photojournalist he also wrote extensively for DisciplesWorld, the monthly magazine of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ.)
Brekke received a B.A. in history from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn., and a M.Div. degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.
